7 months.

We are officially closer to 1 than newborn. Super sad but I must say I am loving this phase. Logan is so interactive and, for the most part, content sitting on the floor playing with toys in front of him.  There is a small part of me that dreads the 6th of each month as I know it makes him another month older. Time really does go so fast. Makes me stop and think if I am making these moments special or am I simply making it from one day to the next in the midst of the chaos? This is something I hope to work on more now that I am home a lot more.......spending intentional time with my kids, not just checking things off of my to do list. Ok......this got a little deep.
On to what my handsome man has been up to over the past month:
   Size 9 month clothes
   Size 3 diapers
Sitting up like a champ and rolling all over the place
Tries to get up on all fours but mostly just sticks his bottom in the air
Babbles all of the time with dadadada being his favorite
Tried some of those dissolvable little rice cakes the other day and he loves them
Still eating food that I make him, really into squash lately
   Eats every 3-4 hours
Has had a little formula mixed with breastmilk in a bottle and tolerates it well
Breastfed all but once a day. I have started replacing one nursing with a bottle
Going to slowly start the weening process
Sleeps pretty good at night, goes to bed at 8 wakes once to eat between 4 and 6 and back to bed til 730 or 8
Naps poorly still during the day
Is able to cat nap in his carseat during the morning so I can still get sis out for some fun
Still a mommas boy and loves to be held all the time

Logan your smile is contagious and your giggle melts my heart. You love your sister so much and are always looking around for her. I cant wait to see your relationship with her develop as you both grow. I love you little man and cant imagine life without you. Kisses!!!

Bitter Sweet Day

Thursday was my last day as a full time employee at Sedgwick County EMS. For months I have been both looking forward to and dreading this day. I have taken time and prayed for so long on this decision and God has done everything but smack me in the face to tell me that my place right now is home with the kids. This makes my stomach hurt. Change is something that is so hard for me.
The hubs and I decided on a "last day" a few months ago and I have been counting the days since. I absolutely love my job and the thought of never being able to work there again was extremely painful. I had talked to my employer and they said due to people leaving recently and requesting to stay as part time employees and then never working, they have started a 60 day wait period. If I call them back 60 days after my last day as a full time employee and still have the desire to work part time then they would allow me to start back as part time. I want to work about 1 day a week, around the kids schedules and also to get me some adult alone time, but still be home the majority of the time. So I will now count down the days until Nov 6th when I can start part time.

One of the things that makes leaving this job the hardest is the fact that I have the most amazing partner! I seriously love this guy as if he was a member of my family. He is the most giving person I have met and is such a strong leader. He is a great husband and father and I hope that my marriage is as awesome as his is after 25 years. I love going to work and knowing what to expect. I know his temperment, I can almost predict how he will respond in any situation. This is extremely helpful in a job that is filled with the constant unexpectedes.

Tim: You have made this job and complete joy and I am so glad that I got to spend so many years with you as my partner. I know that we will remain very close and who know.....we may end up back together sometime!!!

Now I can share the complete excitement that I have to spend more time with my babies. Since having Logan I have realized how fast time really goes. Before I know it they will be in school and my influence in their lives will be decreased drastically. I look forward to loving, nurturing and simply doing life with them. I look forward to watching them grow and sharing those special moments with them that I would have otherwise missed.

And who knows......I may end up back at the job I so love someday in the future!!!

The big 3 0!!!

Last Thursday Josh turned 30. When I asked him how he felt about this birthday he said "Im old!" I have heard that 30 is, by far, the hardest one! I guess its a good thing I have a few months. We celebrated my awesome husband on Friday night with friends and drinks. Let me tell you, I have totally won the lottery with this man!! I could go on, and on, and on about all the ways he rocks my world.
But you will just have to settle for a few sentimental pieces and a random photo shoot!!
God is so awesome! He gave me the most wonderful man out there. Seriously! I love that Josh can see the positive in everything. His attitude is one of love and total optimism about everything. Whether it is me, the kids, his friends, his family or strangers, Josh is so caring, sensitive and non judgemental that sometimes he makes me feel like a complete loser. Yep hes that awesome

I love this guys laid back personality. Rarely does he ever get upset and he is just so laid back about everything. (This balances my craziness out perfectly!) Two screaming kids and a mess of a house dont phase him. In fact, he just picks up the pieces and keeps on going without missing a step. He is non scheduled about anything and really does just enjoy each day of life. (A lesson I could really pick up on). I hope our children inherit his spontaneity and fly by the seat of your pants spirit!

Goofball and Giver. He is the jokster and life of the party. I seriously love his sense of humor and how he can crack a joke and just the perfect time in any situation. He is always willing to help others. Whether it with work around the house or his last dollar, he is a total giver. I love how he loves his family. We are his priority in life and we always know that we come first.

Ok I could go on and on......but Ill stop before you vomit:)
I am so lucky to call this man my husband and cant wait to celebrate the next 30 with you babe!!!

First Haircut

We surely did make it to 2 years and 7 months old before Kinsey got her first haircut. She has always had such long beautiful hair. It actually grew mostly in one length and other than being a little straggly on the ends, it was really healthy and pretty.
One night we were in the bath tub and as I was washing her hair I noticed that when it is wet it touches her butt crack. Yikes! It think thats a pretty clear sign something must be done!!
So I called my dear friend Audrey to do the honors. I didnt want much cut off, just make it healthy and cute.

She sat in the chair like a big girl and snacked on the gummies I brought for her. After it was finished she kept running her fingers through it and saying "Im pretty mommy." Audrey cut 3 inches off. So its still long but looks much healthier now.

6 months

Sweet little Logan turned 6 months on the 6th of this month. Its hard to believe he is half way to a first birthday. He has really changed over the last month and I feel like time is in overdrive! Summer is coming to an end......where did it go?!!!
Anyways, here is what Logan is up to:
  Size 6-9 month clothes
  Size 3 diapers
Sitting up for short spurts at a time
Really having a hard time taking naps in his carseat or anywhere for that matter
Can grab on to toys and actually enjoys playing with them
  Still breastmilk only
Eats big boy food most everyday (favorites are still bananas)
Is totally entertained by big sissy
  Loves his mamma like crazy
  Loves the bath
Still is swaddled to sleep at night
Wakes up once to eat and for the most part is sleeping pretty soundly at night
  Naps terribly during the day
  Loves his binky
  Loves the jumper

Overall he loves to be held ALL the time and I am trying really hard to cherish this because before I know it he will be headed to school and I will be left in the dust crying. We love you like crazy Logan!!

Check out those baby teeth!

Somehow this doesnt seem right.....but Kinsey is old enough for a dentist appointment! How can this be?! Josh and I had our 6 month cleaning and the dentist suggested bringing Kinsey in for her first "happy visit." Basically this was a chance to introduce her to the dentist, staff and the overall environment. They said if she was willing they would even count her teeth and do a quick look over.
I have gone to the same dentist my whole life and just love the small town feel to their office. Once we got there the receptionist took Kinsey up front with her and she got to help with paperwork and even color a picture. Then about half way through our cleaning she brought Kinsey back and she sat on my lap while I was getting my teeth cleaned. She was fascinated. The whole time we were there the denist would come in and out and talk to Kinsey. Once I was finished she got to set in the big chair all by herself. She even let him lay the chair back and opened really big so he could see her pretty teeth. He said they looked great and we get to come back in January for an official cleaning. What a big girl we have!
Daddy was a softie and let her pick out a treat at quick trip afterwards. Gummy worms kind of negate the good bill of health she got......oh well.....it was a special day for my girl!

And if you happened to notice, she sure does have two different outfits on. Small potty accident about half way through........she was a trooper and kept going though!
