Check out those baby teeth!

Somehow this doesnt seem right.....but Kinsey is old enough for a dentist appointment! How can this be?! Josh and I had our 6 month cleaning and the dentist suggested bringing Kinsey in for her first "happy visit." Basically this was a chance to introduce her to the dentist, staff and the overall environment. They said if she was willing they would even count her teeth and do a quick look over.
I have gone to the same dentist my whole life and just love the small town feel to their office. Once we got there the receptionist took Kinsey up front with her and she got to help with paperwork and even color a picture. Then about half way through our cleaning she brought Kinsey back and she sat on my lap while I was getting my teeth cleaned. She was fascinated. The whole time we were there the denist would come in and out and talk to Kinsey. Once I was finished she got to set in the big chair all by herself. She even let him lay the chair back and opened really big so he could see her pretty teeth. He said they looked great and we get to come back in January for an official cleaning. What a big girl we have!
Daddy was a softie and let her pick out a treat at quick trip afterwards. Gummy worms kind of negate the good bill of health she got......oh well.....it was a special day for my girl!

And if you happened to notice, she sure does have two different outfits on. Small potty accident about half way through........she was a trooper and kept going though!

4th!

This year we skipped the annual Peters Family 4th of July Party, and headed up to Topeka. Joshs mom, step dad, and sisters were in town. They came from Italy, Germany and Texas. How could we turn that down?  Everyone met up at Joshs step dads moms house........and the party was started. There were tons of family there and endless amounts of food. Joshs mom had not yet met Logan and hadn't seen Kinsey since she was little. It was so nice to chat and catch up with everything. Only thing I missed was a cocktail (I was so busy chasing little ones around, I completely spaced it out). I will make up for it next year!
That night we attempted the hotel stay again. This time around was much better. We actually had time to use the pool and both kids slept well, all things considered. Kinsey managed to stay up until 11 litstening to the "sparkles." She liked to admire them from afar but don't even think about bringing that girl close to anything that lights up. *Complete Freak Out!* Side note: she did love the little poppers you throw on the ground. Here's to hoping next year she may actually hold a sparkler!!
Thursday we had lunch with the family and then headed home.
As much fun as it was seeing everyone, traveling takes a toll on us all and it was nice to come back to our comfy beds. (Cant you tell I'm a home body?:))
Here are some pics from the holiday!

Family Fun Weekend

Last weekend the fam packed up the car and headed to Kansas City. We went with some great pals and just made a fun weekend of it. First stop:
Deanna Rose Farm in Overland Park
This is such a cool place. Super budget friendly and cool things for the kids to do. There were cows you could watch be milked, baby goats to feed, pony rides, fishing, ice cream, cool playgrounds and plenty of other things we didnt even make it to see. It was super hot and Im pretty sure we were the only ones there. The kids loved it and everyone was asleep by the time we left the parking lot:)

Saturday morning my friend and I ran in the color run. Such a fun and dirty 5k around arrowhead stadium. The boys took the kids and walked around while we ran. There were 15,000 runners. Crazy! Here is a before and after pic!

Saturday afternoon we went to the new Sea Life Exhibit in crown center. It was kind of pricey and I wasnt super impressed. There were mostly fish and different kinds of aquariums. Kinseys favorite part was being able to hold a star fish.
Saturday evening we went and had dinner with my Aunt and Uncle. They hadnt met Logan yet and hadnt seen Kinsey for quite a long time. Kinsey took a special liking to uncle Brad and was glued to his lap. Family, burgers and margaritas. Great night!
Sunday we walked around The legends and had lunch at the T-Rex cafe. The kids were totally freaked out by the big dinosaurs but warmed up to them soon. As long as daddy was holding Kinsey she was brave enough to go near them:)
Then we headed to Lawrence on the way home. Nothing makes my heart happier than Jayhawk town. Plus we had to stock up on all of our KU gear

It was so nice to get away from everyday life and spend some good time with the kiddies. They will only be this young for a short time and sometimes its nice to just do life together. Even though hotel sleeping totally sucks, we will do this again soon!
