Family Pictures at the Zoo

We had family pictures taken a week or so ago and it was a BLAST!! A friend of a friend is a photographer in Kansas City and happened to be in town for a few days. She does amazing work and we really enjoyed spending the afternoon with her. It was a warm day out and Kinsey managed to stay awake for part of the pitcures. Later in the shoot she started to fall asleep. In order to wake her up Josh would yell "Look Kinsey, Its a bear!" Her eyes would fly open and then she would snap a few pictures. It was soo funny. We are really happy with the way they turned out!!

Kinsey has also been going to the Kid Zone at the YMCA while I work out. She has been 5 times now and has managed to sleep through my entire workout 4 out of the 5 times. Its a really nice thing they have there. You check your child in and the infants have a separate place. There are swings and rocking chairs for the caregivers to use while the moms work out. I have felt MUCH better now that I am back to the gym.

Tomorrow I am hosting my first Mommy and me playdate at our house. The two dogs, Henry and Hercules are going to doggy daycare for the day and we are having 6 moms and babies over to play and talk "mom talk." I really enjoy this playdate we have every 2 weeks. We will sip on hot cocoa and have muffins while our little ones play on the floor of blankets.

I hope everyone is having a great week and hope you enjoy our family pictures!!

Taking a Trip Down Memory Lane

As spring approaches I begin to think of our wedding. On May 31st we will be married for 2 years. The sun, warmer weather and sprouting of flowers makes me think back to the day Josh and I said "I do." It was the perfect day. The weather was absolutely lovely and we had the honor of sharing that day with our closest friends and family. Our wedding was about declaring to all those in our presence that we were a team for the rest of our lives. There is something very warm and comforting knowing that each day I get to spend with someone who I know loves me no matter what. I could not be luckier. Josh is the most perfect husband and now each day I get to see that he is equally as perfect father. Each day I love you more babe and am looking forward to the day we celebrate number 50!!!

2 Months!!

Ok so I am a little late on this one because Kinsey turned 2 months on the 1st. So I got this really great idea (yes from you Melissa) to take a picture of Kinsey each month next to the same thing so we can see how much she has grown! So here they are!!

                                                                          1 Month:

2 Months:
Here is what Kinsey is up to lately:

1. She can hold her head up really well.

2. She loves to smile and coo. Especially in the morning. The first day she smiled was Feb 6th.

3.  She is still only eating breastmilk and eats every 3 hours during the day. She will go for 4-6 hours at night.

4. She falls asleep in her pack n play next to our bed but stays in bed with me after she eats.

5. Once she is sleeping through the night we will move her to her crib.

6. It is very obvious she recognizes Josh and my voices and will turn her head to us when we talk.

7. She loves to stare at the ceiling fan.

8. She is growing more and more each day.

Sad Sad Day

Well this has been a day I have been dreading for a while now. Kinsey had her first set of vaccinations. Today she had 3 shots. Both Daddy and I went and I think it was harder on us than her. She cried quite loudly after the shots but I think it was out of suprise rather than lots of pain. I picked her and she calmed down. She then slept for the next couple of hours. I am paying close attention to her this afternoon to make sure she does not get a fever. I have been giving her Tylenol every 4 hours and she seems to be doing great :) This evening she is going to spend a couple of hours at grandma and grandpas while Josh and I go to our small group. She absolutely LOVES spending time with them!

This weekend she spent her first time in the church nursery. You can look onto a screen and see what all of the babies are doing. She had a nice lady suckered into rocking her all service long. She was the youngest baby in the infant room and from what we were told did great. We are looking forward to next weekend!

Joshs brother has been in town the past week and it has been nice spending time with him .This was his first time meeting Kinsey. He left today to head back to California where he is stationed in the marines. Joshs cousins Lee and Angie are also visiting and got into town on Saturday. They have a 20 month old little girl named Lily. On Sunday we had lunch at Grandmas and Lily was playing with Kinsey on the floor. She would say "baby" and point to Kinsey. It was soo cute!
It was really fun to see all of the things we have to look forward to with Kinsey. Walking, talking, eating with spoons and forks. I am trying really hard to cherish the time I have with her now but I often find myself anxious for the future!

Here is a picture of Kinsey and Lily at Grandmas:
