Bye Bye "BeeBee"

10 days ago we bit the bullet and took away Logans paci.
He had been down to only using it in his bed for the past month or so but it was time to go. I seem to always dread the major changes and think they will be bigger deals than they actually are. The kids have done rather well with those changes. Looks like I may have some control issues. (I guess thats not really a secret).
He has done really well with actually falling asleep without it. Unlike sissy he actually had a name for it and could ask for it. He would cry "beebee" and reach towards his dresser where he knew they were hidden. That really tugs at the heart strings. Felt like I was taking his best friend away. But lets be honest......he can't go to kindergarten still sleeping with his "beebee" and eventually his friends would make fun of him and he would never be invited to a sleepover. So see pal, I have your best interest at heart.
So going to bed without "beebee" has been easy peasy its the waking up part that we are having trouble with.
Each day since taking "beebee" away he has been waking earlier and earlier. Look, I know I am spoiled by miss I need 15 hours of sleep each night, but this guy is exhausting me. Before we took "beebee" away he would sleep until 7:30ish. Way earlier than sissy but I can handle 7:30. Today he reached a new record of 6:15. If it gets worse than this I may lose my mind.
Cheers to at least 7:00 tomorrow pal!
Even if you wake at the crack of dawn you are one loved little guy. I hope you don't hate me forever for taking your best friend away.

Weekend at the Lake

Last weekend we loaded up with 4 other couples and headed to Beaver Lake.
A gal pal of mine had the hook up with a totally sweet lake house. Its her cousins husbands dads house. Follow that?.....
Anyway we stayed in the guest house with 3 other couples. Yep its that cool that it even has a guest house.

My sweet kiddies stayed with uncle Tommy and aunt Meagan. It was the first time I have left them for more than one night with anyone other than Josh. I was a mess leading up to actually dropping them off but once the weekend got started I was able to enjoy myself. Props to my bro for sending tons of pics to make sure they were doing great!

We arrived late Friday afternoon. We spent the evening just chatting away on the back deck that looks over the lake. I am pretty sure I have not laughed so hard in ages. Its totally awesomeness when your cheeks ache from laughter.

Woke up early Saturday morn and went for a run in the Arkansas hills. Ever tried that? Well my shins will tell you that its no easy task. Then had some incredibly awesome coffee sitting on the dock enjoying the morning. Not sure if the coffee was actually that tasty or it was the company and scenery. We spent the day laying on the dock, jet skiing and tubing. Literally 9 hours out in the awesome weather. Does the soul good.

We came back sunday morning. I felt refreshed and rested. Its amazing the amount of attention that raising little ones takes from your marriage. It was so nice to spend time with Josh and actually be his wife rather than mommy.

Rain Rain

It's no secret that lately we have had plenty of puddle jumping opportunities here in good ole Wichita.
So that is exactly what we did.
And why not make it even more cool but jumping in the puddles WHILE it is raining. Double whammy there!

A little blurry but check out that
                                                    air!!!

Mommy date

A few weeks ago Kinsey and I spent the whole morning alone together.
Sounds pretty simple but I can't remember the last time before that when we just got to spend some time with just the two of us.
We went to the zoo for an animal encounter.
This weeks special animal was a snake. Not gonna lie, I thought this would scare the bananas out of her.
I was wrong. She did great!
There was someone there to tell the kids about snakes and even passed around snake skeletons, turtle shells, lizard skins.....pretty cool.
Then they brought out a big snake for the kids to pet. EEEKK.
Kins was first in line and loved it. Its so stinkin fun to watch her have fun.

After that we had lunch at panera. My mom met us there and we had a nice lunch together.

Its so fun to just talk and have conversations with her. Fun to hear her thoughts on things. She is such a sweet girl and I hope we have a million more dates together.
