Time please stop

I want this very period of my life to freeze! I do not want to miss a single second. I do not want a single memory to fade.
Time is such a strange thing. With time these precious little babies have grown into such wonderful toddlers. With time I find my memories of those sweet little wrinkles on their newborns head fading. The smell of their skin as a newborn isn't quite as strong. I long to hold on to those memories that I will never be able to experience again.

But right now I do not ever want to forget that laugh. The true belly laugh that can only come from deep within a sweet little child. I never want to forget his laugh.

I don't ever want to forget the way she strokes my face while we are lying in bed and says "mommy, I love you soooooo much"

My fear is that these memories will fade just like the smell of their newborn little bodies has. Not completely. I just want that memory to be as fresh as if it had just happened.
I guess that is where I find the motivation to make new memories.
These precious little babies are growing so quickly.
I deeply and truly do not want to miss a second of it.

Soaking up Summer

Last summer we did not spend much time at the pool. Logan was still so young that he could only tolerate it in short time periods and Kinsey absolutely hated her floatie so going to the big pool was out of the question. They both required my complete attention at the point and lets be honest.....no one was having any fun.
This year is a whole new ball game!
Sis loves her floatie and has grown so much as far as swimming has gone. Swimming lessons + trying to keep up with older friends = much improvement!
Logan doesn't love the water and is mostly content walking around the edges and eating a snack. He loves to watch all the big kids. He would just rather do it from the sidelines!
We have spent tons of time in the water this year and love being there!
I think one week we actually went to the pool every single day!
We are so fortunate to have a neighborhood pool very close and lots of great neighbors to meet there.
Here are some pics of our summer water fun!

I promise Logan has been present at each of these swimming sessions! For some reason he just hasn't made many pics. I should probably fix that soon because she sure does look handsome in those trunks!

The 4th

Joshs family came to town right around holiday so it was filled with the extra fun of them on top of all the excitement.
Josh took Wednesday off of work and we spent the day hanging out with his bro, sis in law and twin nieces. Kinsey looked up to the older girls. It was so fun watching her try to copy them and fit in with them. Someday she will be the big girl that the younger ones want to be like. Sad face for momma:(
Joshs mom and step dad came to town Wednesday evening and we went to dinner, played a mean game of cards and just had a good time!
On the 4th we woke up and headed over to mamu and papas.
We hung out, laughed, ate way too much, laughed some more, swam and did some fireworks.
Kinsey actually did some fireworks of her own and was not scared to death. Crazy what one year will do.
Logan was indifferent:)

Swim Lessons 2013

Kinsey just finished up the two week session of swim lessons at the YMCA today. Today was her last day and today was the first day she didn't shed a tear. My sweet little girl is a ball of nerves in new situations. At church and pretty much every other group activity she does with her peers she always knows someone in the class. Swim lessons were a different story. She knew no one and the big pool area freaked her out. It was good for her to get out of her comfort zone. She grew so much in terms of her water skills these two weeks. I am so proud of her.
She started out being ok in very shallow water. She can now put her face in and float on her back. She also uses a floaty with me at our neighborhood pool and will easily swim to the deep end alone.
I have watched her confidence soar these past two weeks. Each time the teacher would put her all the way under she would jump out of the water and look for me making sure I saw her big accomplishment.
Its crazy how much joy I get out of watching her experience new things.
She even made a couple of new friends!
Even though she didn't quite "pass" pike class I am so impressed with how well she has done and how far her swimming skills have came these past two weeks.
We are SO proud of you sweet girl!!
